We spent with Christmas with Arg, Aryo, Mark, Danica, Adex, and Cingky. Something we haven't done in a while, so it was super nice to finally have a group gathering and reminisce the old days. The group is getting smaller, unfortunately, with a lot of our friends going back to Indonesia for good. But at least we now get to really converse with everybody on the dinner table, instead of getting 3 separate big tables at the restaurant and ended up socializing with your own table throughout dinner ;)
We went to Boneta in Gastown for our Christmas dinner. The bf and I, as usual, had already checked out the restaurant's review and their best entrees in advance. So we settled for 32oz cote de boeuf. We thought it was a good portion and good price for a 2 persons meal. The beef was yummy, although not as.."special" as we had imagined. It came with marrow sauce (which was yummy) and vegetables, which was perfect!! I don't think we could even think of eating that meat with any carbs. Keep in mind, it did take longer for them to cook the beef. So your meal might come a bit later than the rest of the meals on the table.
Dinner was done by around 8pm (HELLO!! now THAT is something unusual for the group. We usually start dinner by 9pm). So we decided to hang out a bit more and get something to drink.
Great dinner, great time, awesome friends. It was a nice Christmas.
